I recently converted to computer gaming, but noticed my fx 8350 is getting way to hot on idle (62 degrees C) so im thinking i need a new cooler, I was looking at water cooling. My 3 options are either a coolermaster seidon 240m, which i was worried will fit in my case (diablotek evo) or a corsair h80i which i am also worried wont go in my case, the only air cooler i would think about is the noctua nh d14, but i am unsure if it will fit in my case either I would like to do some overclocking so please dont say to get an h60, its between those 3 coolers. I havent been able to find anything anywhere about whether or not it will fit.
a few questions
- do you live in america
- are you currently using stock cooling
- 3 how much are you going to overclock
- what is your budget
I live in America, I want to take it to 4.8ghz I'm using stock cooling and I want to spend under 100 dollars
well from what I can tell you can't fit an h100 because of the thickness, you can't fit both the rad and the fans in without being in the way of the motherboard
and thanks to diablotek being a shitty company they don't list the maximum heatsink hieght, so now you're stuck with buying a new case and a new heatsink or liquid cooler, this is the company that made mak's fire hazard PSU btw
its a little over 100$ but cools just as well as a H100 or better
you can't put fans on the side and you'll have to move the fans a bit lower than they are in the picture about 3-5mm lower
Rather than just do that, i found out that my motherboard is the problem, so i will be going back to microcenter on sunday to exchange my case and motherboard
it would run into ANY motherboard in that case and you're getting high temps because of the stock cooler a xigmatek gaia will give you better temps at stock
but I would recommend a case that has at least 60mm space in between the top of the case and the backplate for a water cooler and get 140mm mounts if you can
