I have an old hard drive from a previous build and looking to install it into my new system. It has windows vista installed on it and i want windows 7 how would i go about installing 7? I want to wipe everything on the hard drive also. I might not be clear with my question so please ask me if you are confused.
If theres nothing you really need on the old harddrive, just reformat it and install 7.
If theres stuff you want to keep, put it on dropbox or google drive or burn it onto a dvds or external hdd/flash or something, then the same.
So when i go in and install 7 would there be an option to delete what is on the hard drive? i can't reformat it on my current pc so will there be an option to do that when setting up my new pc?
Yes, when you're installing 7, there will be an option to delete or format everything on the hard drive you want it to be empty and prepared for a fresh OS installation.
I actually made a video explaining how to use a flash drive to install windows 7. (Youtube username Lazerlord10)
