my biggest questions are if the PSU can handle this and is the just right to play games like GW2, alien isolation, and Shadow of Mordor at high or medium settings? Also is this the best i can get for the $700 price range? Help is appreciated
The power supply is good, but It's not really worth it to go for a 4GB 270x. I'd either just get the normal 2GB version (or even just a 270 since the 270x is just an overclocked 270), or get an R9 280 or something better.
I have heard of problems with Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P and overclocking
I would recommend this build for $725 if it is too much put a cheaper CPU cooler or shrink the GPU ... you have to admit when you read thee specs and see how well the colors match ... it is beautiful and I rarely if ever try and match color ... just a happy accident when the science works out along with the art.

here is a cheaper push pull 19dbA CPU cooler on it for $702
the only problem with that is i still need to buy the operating system so it would run me an extra 100 bucks but would this run faster than a lenovo y50
I'd put my money into hardware... I'm sure you can figure out a way to get a operating system :)... knocking $100 off a $725 build will cripple your GPU...
i like the looks of this build. a couple questions tho, qould the quad core give me the same multitasking ability compared to the hexa core and is the r9 280 better than the 270x. and i just wanted it to see how it would compare price to performance wise against the y50.
I would argue this FX 6300 OC'ed on this Asus M5A97 R2.0 mobo that features "Bios flash back" which makes the bios unbrickable and the perfect system to learn to do bios flashing and OC on. ... Would be better and faster ... when OC'ing. just $10 more ... includes Faster ram and CPU cooler and OS
And you have to admit ... that low end i5 and B85 mobo set up is a dead end ... it is the best it will ever be.

OR if it's in your budget to do $30 more instead ... this mobo would be even better and you would not be in a dead end system.
