Need help with First PC build

So i have been trying to get together a good build for a while and now i think i have one that is cheap and i beleive will meet my needs i just need some suggestions on a few parts and i need to know if this build will satisfy my needs. basically for right now y needs are i want to be able to play games like Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, and strategy games like Total war. i am still going to keep my console for now but i do plan on switching completely over to PC. so this is my build so far the CPU is AMD A10-6800k Motherboard im not sure that is one of the places i need help the RAM is Gskill value series one 8GB stick hard drive is a 1TB western digital green power supply is a corsair builder series CX430 430w and the case is a rosewill challenger black gaming ATX mid tower. so far on newegg the price is at $380 with most parts at free shipping i want to try to stay under $500. Also as far as an OS i was hoping i can use linux but not sure if that would be a good idea and for the monitor, keyboard, and mouse i have them.

i added a MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 motherboard and windows 7 and now the total comes to $533 please someone get back to me as soon as possible let me know if everything is compatible with each other and if it is a good build

In the build I was going to make before I decided to use Intell, I was looking at the Gigabyte GA-990FXA UD3 motherboard. And I did a lot of research on it too; still looks like a good board even though it has been around for a while. For the OS on the other hand, I'm running a dual boot with Windows 7 and Linux Mint 15 (in my oppinion the best branch of Linux), and Mint works fine with my Logitech mouse and Dell keyboard and monitor.
