I've recently got a new pc thats ITX. Because of this I need to sort out an external audio setup (goodbye soundcards) of some description. I'd love it to fit in with my new rig's look, which is pretty much Aluminium/silver. So far from what I can see, Schitt's magni coupled with a modi would be my best bet.
I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to audio and from what I can find I'm either right to go with Schitt or I'm an idiot. Headphones wise I'll pick up something when I order these. I'm also not too fussed about budget however as I'm not doing professional stuff it doesn't need to cost more than $300-$500 (or £400).
The two piece combo from Shiit is not IMO worth the $200+ for what it has to offer ... You may consider Mayflower Electronics Objective2 + ODAC Combo Headphone amp is the definitive realization of what it means to be called reference class audio reproduction. It is $75 more than the stack of Schiit but you can hear and feel the difference.
Hrm, ok thanks for your reccomedations guys :). I might go for the mayflower as it does seem to be worth the extra however it is a shame they don't do a silver one.
We have some silver cases left laying around. We did silver a long time ago but people much prefer black so we took them off the website. If you end up purchasing anything from us shoot me an email and I'll swap the case out for silver.
