Hi
I'm building a budget gaming build for a friend and his needs are just general browsing, media watching, and hopefully light gaming. The games he was hoping to play are Hearthstone and LoL
I was thinking of a APU with at least 8 gigs ram. I was hoping to put a SSD in there with the recently falling prices, though I'm not too sure
I don't need any extra peripherals
Budget: $400 CAD
I'd also like to buy from Canadian retailers, avoiding terrible duty and conversion costs
Ive built a few PCs so I think I know what I'm doing, Any help will be appreciated!

APU build would be the way to go... PSU on this build is WAY overkill but it's the cheapest thing I saw that I'd put any trust in...
You really can't get any cheaper than this without buying outdated hardware and making huge sacrifices in performance... the CPU/GPU build will be around $80-100 more at a minimum...

and an SSD is basically out of the equation if you want any elbow room at all for storage... my advice would be to just save up if he plans on gaming at all... in reality... you can't expect much for $400 CAD
Nothing special but it should run hearthstone and lol just fine. Link

Within the budget, quality parts, decent APU that will play the games listed no problem and will suit the user's needs just fine. SSD will make for a fast and enjoyable user experience and 128GB is big enough for OS, the games listed and some other programs. Easy enough to add a 1TB HDD later on.
