Need help with brand new set-up

Well, I been saving up for a high-end PC since last December and I have put £4000 aside, I am not exactly spending it all on the PC, but around 3000 dedicated for it. I have already bought the monitors, new desk and a nice chair to make a decent setup. I just need help deciding the parts for the PC.

This computer will be for gaming, rendering videos, editing videos, running programs that stress the PC quite a lot as-well.

(I am just going to put everything I have bought so far so you know around how much money I have to spent, you don't need to spend it all though)

Couldn't find the desk but it costed £219.99, I liked the design of it.

I already had the monitors so it isn't included in the price.

As for the computer, I have started putting together a build on UK Park-picker yet I could probably do a lot better with the choices.

What monitors are you going to be running?

Here's a X99 build that will probably be better.  I left some things out that I was unsure of when making the build, so add things as needed.

+1 .... that is what dreams are made of.

but ...

Depending on which programs you will be running ... there may be more optimal configurations.

for example ...

When working with large render files that have many hours of work put into them I would recommend a very reliable backup 'as you go' solution.

Maybe a number of drives in a raid array?

I like this build alot I would prob run the SSDs in a raid 0 for speed and storage and I would get 3 more of the HDDs and run them in a raid 10 for speed and redundancy.  +1 for Ratzzz suggestion
Im not sold on the x99s b/c perfomance per dollar. If rendering 4k it might be nice to get 64 GIG of RAM but you will be hard pressed to find a workstation board to support it.

+1

alot of the X99 boards are going to support massive amounts of ram

and instead of two SSDs in raid 0 ... a PCIe OCZ SSD for best performance

if this is for work ... my advice ... save more money

Have you used any of the PCIe SSD? are they nice / noticable diffrence in day to days

I just heard Wendell praising them ... out of my reach at this time    :(

the problem with two SSDs in Raid 0 is that if one drive dies ... you lose it all.

Hence why I went with the 850 Pros.  Raid 0 is always risky, but I wouldn't worry a whole lot considering the rated endurance of the 850 Pros.

same if you have just one drive though

+ 1/2 each ..... true enough   lol
