ok i’m trying to get davinci resolve running under ubuntu.
a few weeks ago i installed davinci fine. but i couldn’t get opencl to work with my hd7950. seems i need the amdpro drivers
so i just got/ stole from a friend/miner, a rx 570. i installed the amdpro drivers. but now when i try to lunch resolve it does nothing. can anyone try and help me figure this out?
ubuntu 16.04
fx 8350

oh and i already tried to start from scratch with the same results.
Try launching it from the terminal. That will usually give you an error as to why it’s not starting. I’ve never used that program myself, but generally googling what error it spits out at you gives you a good place to start.

ok guys, i broke down and tried a gtx1060. good news is i got it to work! but i did get the exact same err when i first tried. it finally worked when i installed cuda. do you think there is a possibility that i needed to install cuda with the amd card?
I’m not on Linux and have no Nvidia card, but presumably the AMD card will be using OpenCL. Not sure if that needs to be installed separately or not.
