Need help with a build for a friend

Hi all,

As the title would suggest I'm looking for other opinions on the basis of a build for a good friend of mine..

He is very budget minded, obviously wants to "future-proof" as much as possible and will be playing mostly online FPS'.. Battlefield 3 (& 4), Arma 2 (&3), DayZ etc..

It comes down to a standoff.. FX8350 and 7850 versus FX6300 and 7870.. I'm leaning more towards the FX6300 side of things, but would love some input from you guys..

I am trying to persuade him to self build in which case the greater CPU & GPU might be feasible, but he is wary of trying it with little knowledge.. I will persist though..

Thanks in advance of your thoughts,

Jemaine

Well Jemaine, If I were to build a computer choosing between those option, I would go for the fx8350 with an HD7850. Mostly because a more powerful CPU will make the PC last longer as it's far easier to upgrade the graphics card and I would guess that games in the future will favour more cores. Besides he'll get totally awesome graphics with "just" a 7850 even if he couldn't get full settings with decent framerates.

Your friend could say his budget, so will know what to do exactly

8350 and a 650ti boost.

Thanks for the input guys.. As it stands he is looking at spending a little over £600, however that is based on having it built for him..
