Need help with a $900 build

Hello,

I've been looking at a few builds around the forums to get an idea of what to buy and I have come up with this (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1odL3). It follows some of the builds I was looking at pretty closely although it does deviate a bit so that I can save a few bucks on some of the deals.

I know that some of the Intel CPUs that are around the same price may actually perform better when it comes to games but I'm going to be doing an equal amount if not more of rendering videos so that's why I went with the 8350.

My main concern for what I've picked is the Motherboard because I'm a bit of a noobie when it comes to them. I know that the Asus Sabertooth is a good board the only problem is that I need 2 PCI Express 1x ports so I went the Gigabyte board instead because it seems equivalent to the Sabertooth.

I would like to try and keep the build under $900 but if there is something that would give a significant performance bump that would push it over $900 then I might be okay with that.

Thanks for any help you can give me, I'm pretty inexperienced so my choices probably are not the best.

the build looks good only a few things that i have to mention. first the ram, i see you want to buy a bigger aftermarket aircooler, those ripjawas are a bit high profile ram, that means, there is a large heat spreader, i would personaly advice to pickup low profile ram, like the G-skill Ares 1866mhz ram, or the G-skill snipers 1866mhz ram, those are lower profile. with bigger aircoolers the fan can realy come close to the first ram slot on the mobo, and somethimes it can even cover it, so if you buy low profile ram, you will not run into issues installing them.

Second the mobo: the Asus sabertooth, is a much better mobo the gigabyte ud3. in therms, of stability and overclockability, its just a much better board. The gigabyte has well known overheating issues, on the northbridge chip and vrm´s wenn it comes to overclocking, also the bios, isn´t  that great.. i would personaly recommend to lookup for a better mobo, like the Asus sabertooth 8+2 powerphase and digi vrm., or also a great board will be the Asrock Extreme 9 12+2 powerphase digi vrm, and gold plated capacitors. further your build looks fine to me, maybe a better psu like XFX, seasonic Lepa or corsair is something to concider.

p.s you can also use a pci-e X1 card in a normal pci-e x16/x8/x4 slot.

grtz Angel ☺
