I recently upgraded from a 780ti to a 1080 i uninstalled the old graphics driver and plugged in the 1080 now when i try installing the new driver it tells me that windows 10 is not compatible so i tried updating my windows 10 but it does not update just gives me an error i used the windows 10 trouble shoot said the problems were fixed but nothing happens im stuck in this loop and i have no idea what to do now im out of ideas need help.
how did you remove the driver?
I used DDU
It's probably trying to download the anniversary edition on your non-anni version of windows or vice versa. Download the correct one directly from the website.
thank you i will try that right now
i would try to boot into windows safe mode and install the driver that way
my internet is a bit slow it will take some time to update i will give a feedback asap
thank you for the help everyone there were corrupted files of windows 10 i had to use these steps to solve the issue in case anyone encounters this issue in the future :
- Open an elevated command prompt. Press WinKey + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
2.Type the following command, and then press Enter. It may take several minutes for the command operation to be completed.
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
3.After you get message “The operation completed successfully” type second command and press enter. It will take some time to finish.
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Then just update windows 10 with the updater on there website
again thank you everyone that helped me on the forums
