Need help selling my laptop

Hey guys, so obviously I’m trying to sell my laptop. The specs are:

  • Intel Core i7 2670QM @2.20GHz Turbo @3.10GHz
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 560m 3Gb VRAM (192-bit version)
  • 16Gb of RAM (not sure about frequency but I think it’s around the 1333-1600MHz ballpark)
  • Currently running Windows 10 Home

The reason I am getting rid of it are because I want to get a desktop computer that will do all the things that this one does and more for the price that this thing costs, but I’m not sure what would be considered a reasonable price to sell this thing for.

I remember seeing this model on NewEgg for around 1,600-1,700 USD so I was thinking anywhere around 1,100 to 1,300 would be reasonable for something like this. What are your thoughts on this?

Also, what would be the best way to sell this laptop? I really want to stay away from craigslist if I can help it haha.

NewEgg: ASUS Laptop Intel Core i7-2670QM 16GB Memory 750GB HDD 160 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M 17.3" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit G74SX-DH72 - Newegg.com

I'm a fan of ebay but the buy/sell/trade forum also a great place. A link to the laptop product page would help.

Okay cool! I just edited the original post to include the NewEgg listing as well as the original Asus listing from their site.

not rain on your parade too much, but it might be hard to sell your laptop in that price range..... Just for the sake of conversation here is the current ASUS laptops on Newegg in the price range. Notice the GL771 actually at the bottom of your price and a fair amount higher in specs.... Just food for though. Good luck with sale.

I searched the model on ebay and people are barely getting $500-$600 for it. Selling a used laptop unless its a macbook is hard since there are so many windows laptops.

Yeah, this is no where near a 1.1k USD laptop anymore. For athe same price you could get an i7-4720HQ and a 960M.

Yeah after doing a bit of research I'm finding that this thing isn't worth crap anymore lol. Too bad I paid over 2,000 for it in 2011. Oh well. Thanks for the help guys.

Don't fear, give it to a buddy that might be interested in PC gaming, or set it up as some sort of server/media PC. Laptops always have a use after they get out of date.

My old laptop is literally a linux box.
