I need help booting my PC , I have two Xeon Platnium 8180es chip and 2 motherboard a super Mirco X11dph-i and a brand new Asus c621 SAGE. Both having the same error when posting c7 and b7 / c6
Memory error. But my memory I sure is fine plus no way all my 16 stick ecc ddr4 2666 mt samsung memory all failed. Is my board bios not supporting the es chip?
Also I order 2 8173m from eBay wonder will they work on those motherboard.
Usually Supermicro is pretty good about supporting ES CPUs in it’s BIOS.
Yeah it’s unlikely that many DIMMs are all bad; how do the pads on the bottom of the CPU look? discolored at all?
My money is on the memory controller portion of the CPU being damaged which sometimes manifests as damaged looking pads on the cpu.
Edit: also make sure the cpu cooler is properly torqued down, if the cpu pads don’t contact with enough force sometimes memory errors will happen.
Does your board support ES and do you have both the right bios version and ME Firmware version
All 3 are important
