I am looking for a sound card and a a set of 2.1 speakers. I use my computer for listening to music(mostly FLAC), watching movies(DVDs and Blu-Ray), and playing games. I am looking to spend no more than $300 total, but spending less could be nice. Actually, could I get for under 200 and for under 300? Thanks.
For the sound card...it can be PCI or PCIe x1, doesn't really matter to me.
The speakers...all I know is that I want them to be 2.1 and sound great.
I don't know what to look for in sound cards and speakers. I also am pretty sure Logan will be able to show me exactly what I want, as this is up his alley.
now, since he's done, opinions on this set of bad boys? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00001WRSJ/ref=s9_tsim_c2_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=11TKEVJ56RB2KGVKDPRM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=435646701&pf_rd_i=507846
I think skull candy look 100x cooler than they sound... my brother in law sold his logitech noise canceling headphones that I got him for these... and the logitech sounded 100x better...
he doesn't care.. he just wants to wear the skull candy around miami and look cool.
for sound... get a creative x-fi based card... don't get the xtreme audio. Get one of these cards:
there is SO much money in headphones... they cost the company about $5-$7 to make an awesome pair like that... then they sell them from $50 - $200+!!
we should make RTW headphones with a glowing logo...
they also probably cost a lot to develop. same with mobo's, cpu's, and graphics cards, most of the money goes to the development. Although i do not know if there is a huge development process behind headphones.
