Hey guys. I'm looking to sort of test the waters of pc gaming. I am currently a console gamer but have heard great things about pc gaming. And I figure worst case scenario if I don't like pc gaming(which i doubt) i can always downgrade and just have a regualr desktop.
I would like to get the best graphics and framrate possible for my budget which i would set around i guess $900-$1200(including OS, excluding monitor). I don't really want to overclock unless I have to. I maybe willing to throw in a little more money if it's neccesary. I've done some research on components but I still really don't know what to get. The games I am looking to play are mostly MMOs and pc exlcusive games. Shooters I'll probally just stick to console.
I will need to be able to connect wirelessly and I will be using a 27 inch monitor. And it's not neccesary but i would like to use my Astro's for 7.1 surround sound which require an optical out port.
Here good sir take a look, i left the case keyboard and mouse out so you can choose those that suit your tastes and style. The FX8320+HD7970 will destroy every MMO out, and just about every game out as well. Coming from a console to a system of this capability is definitely going to be a experience for you, you will not go back to console.
The motherboard has a optical out as well, and connecting wirelessly i do not know what you are talking about exactly.
You can buy a wireless adapter from newegg from $10-100, although witht hat stuff i know nothing about i prefer wired. I am sure someone will help you pick a wireless adapter that works and gets you connected properly for a good value.
Pick a few out that tickle your fancy and we will pick the one that works for your system, Newegg has a huge selection of cases that you will be lost in for hours lol. Make sure that one of the search preferences " ATX" to make sure the motherboard fits.
This will play any game at max. I added in the case, because most( if not all) 7970s and some 7950s are very picky when it comes to cases. A lot of cases won't fit them. But I'm sure the 300R can fit any card. A wired internet access is always more reliable, but I added one in because you said you needed one. I chose the 8350 because for $20 more, you get a 500Mhz increase. That's well worth it, since you're not sure if you're gonna be overclocking. But I also put in a good cooler, in case you do( an 8350 will go farther than an 8320, anyway). It's mostly a modified version of John c's build. If you're okay with a standard mouse, than you could drop the G600. And if you're okay with a standard keyboard, you can drop the K60, too. If you or someone you know has a Windows 7 64-bit COA sticker with them, you can use that as the OS. Just download the OS that is indicated on the sticker from whatever site you want, and install it with that key. Then you could drop the OS from the build.
