Hey forum!
I know I know. I am signing away my soul by buying a Mac. I like them, and have a Windows gaming rig.
I am in the market for a 15 or 13 inch Macbook Pro Retina. Would prefer more than 128gbs, but not sure what model is the most cost efficient. I will be doing Adobe InDesign work for my school's magazine, and playing some games. Nothing on the Crisis level, but some Borderlands 2 and indie games. I am open to buying a used/refurb one or waiting for a new edition to be released(whenever that may be).
If anyone has a recommendations I would love to here.
Thanks!
Looking forward to not having to attempt to clear Internet Explorer of this machine.

Get the $1499 one with 256gb ssd. This drive is considerable faster than the 128gb drive. I researched this when I helped my sister decide which one to buy. Also, since you're a student, make sure you get a $100 discount Apple gives to students.
Go for the 13 inch if it won't be your main computer and you already have a gaming rig. It will be lighter and more portable, which will matter if you will be lugging it around a lot. You can always hook it up to your monitor when you are home/at your desk.
I'd almost recommend going for the 128GB version and swapping out the hard drive for a larger one that's you'd buy later. You might have to get a special screwdriver as Apple have tried to make things less user serviceable over the years.
Ok, I will most likely do that. Thanks
Uhh, maybe get the 13 inch one with an i5 and 8 gb of RAM and is extremely overpriced, idk my macs man, sorry
Check out ifixit.com or similar sites (other world computing/macsales.com) for the specific model that you will buy to find out what you can upgrade, what that would invovle and what you cannot upgrade.
I think all of the internal bits in the Retina Line are actually soldered in place so swamping out parts wouldn't be possible. He would have to spec it out from the beginning since there is no other chance.
Maybe a refurb wouldn't be a bad Idea. They all come with Apple Care and Apple makes sure that they are all in brand spanking new shape.

Found this one in seconds. A MBPR for less then a grand is a fantastic price.
The SSD is replaceable/ upgradeable, anything else however is not.
