Im upgrading from a Dell 1280 x 1024 and i have no idea what to look for in a monitor. I saw an Acer 22" for $200 but it only had a 700:1 Contrast ratio vs a Samsung that had a 7000:1 ratio but was $280. my price range is $180 - $230 so any help would be appreciated.
i was thinking this monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009094

i have one of these 250 dollar 1000-1 contrast ration samsung monitors with a 2ms response time and they are nice. just bought mine in costco, first one had a dead pixel but i just brought it back and swapped it for a new one. they didnt even ask why i wanted to swap it.
well i upgraded from a 17 inch to that 22 inch and wow. is all i can say
i got mine from tigerdirect shiped with no dead pixels but they should really put a cover around the box as they didnt and ppl can see the pic of the LCD on the box and the big letters ACER lol
ya i just was unlucky on my first one, made me glad i got it in a store though.
