Need Help Choosing a PC

My brother says not to get this one http://pcpartpicker.com/p/AoMs but to get this one http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zM5q.  A main resone he said this is because its not intel and overclocking ruins the life span of your computer?  Does it really ruin the lifespan? And any advide on which one to get?

I would definitely go with the first build, Logan and a few others have proved that the FX-8350 out performs the i5-3570k in gaming. Overclocking, if done properly won't really ruin the lifespan of your computer. As long as you keep everything cooled well, and don't overvolt your system you should be fine. Also, there's really no need for that 2133 ram, I would go with ddr3 1600 from corsair, gskill, or something like that instead, and use that to upgrade your graphics card. You'd notice far better performance that way. Also, newegg currently has that SSD you were looking at on sale with a promo code. It's down to $89.99 through tomorrow.

thanks so much but do you have any idea what gaphics card instead?

GTX 680 or HD 7970 if youre gonna spend more on the GPU

If you're going with the FX-8350 I' dsuggest 1866 RAM, little faster should allow the 8 cores to stretch their legs a little more, not that much more than 1600 and you get more performance.

If I was going to get rid of that memory and do anything I'd go for a bigger SSD, there's no reason to upgrade to a GTX680 from a 670. Performance isn't appreciably better, 670 is a much better value for the money.
