I DO NOT want to use iTunes. What are the best programs for managing, storing, burning music?
Windows Media player is a viable option. But FooBar is great for managing music. For video, VLC.
I still personally love Winamp, the only downside is you can't actually drag songs OUT of winamp into folders.
This is the one I'd heard Logan talk about on The Tek. Thanks! Is there a certain site I should download from? Or will any mirror do?
Just google foobar. As for Burning CD's CD Burner XP Works nicely
foobar2000 is a great music player with a lot of nifty features, but you need to put some time into it to make it not look hideous.
MPC-HC has objectively the best video player when installed with the madVR renderer and Lav filters.
VLC if you are lazy.
foobar for music, and for video go with MPC-HC. If you don't want to bust your ass with codecs just get it with the combined community codec pack. http://www.cccp-project.net/
and although VLC works fine, it doesn't render some subtitles correctly, and some specific codecs render horribly on it. For the sole reason that there's something better and equally easy to use(CCCP is a 3-click install), i wouldn't recommend VLC to anyone, for anything.
