I started building my first PC. The system will not show a boot screen, but all the fans and leds light up. The motherboard says it supports three ram speeds, but the speed of my ram is a little more than what it says. Can the ram be the problem, or won't the ram just downclock itself to match motherboard specs. I'm not sure, any other possible solutions would be helpful. Thanks
RAM should just down clock itself, try taking everything out of your motherboard and slowly adding things in one piece at a time checking the beep codes when nothing is in the motherboard, and checking again for every piece you add in
also what do you have your monitor hooked up to? ports on the board or video card? and then just make sure your video card is plugged in/seated correctly
I fixed the issue, just had to switch the ram sticks around. Now everything is working, thanks.
