Need advice on my build!

Helloooo,

I thought it was time to upgrade my pc for christmas, But i'm thinking about getting a ipad mini too.

I could go with both but then i would have to change my pc upgrade...

If i was gonna go for my pc upgrade it would look like this:

CPU: i5 3570K

GPU: GTX 670

MOBO: MSI Z77A-G41

If i was gonna go with the ipad mini it would look like this:

GPU: GTX 670

And the ipad mini.

My question is: Is it really worth sacraficing the ipad mini for the new cpu? (And motherboard but that's because i have a AM3 motherboard now)

I want to play bf3 and far cry 3 maxed out(Not really maxed but atleast on the highest textures plus some option of anti aliasing enabled, like 4x or something) on a resolution of 1680x1050 with a framerate of around 60.

I also want to play minecraft with the unbelievable shaders mod at a framerate of above 30 fps

And i want to be able to record bf3 and far cry 3 at 30fps minimal with the settings listed above.

So does anyone of you guys now if i can run those games on the gtx 670 with my old cpu?

My old cpu is a AMD Athlon ii x3 450 triple core. Clocked at 3200mhz.

Thanks in advance!

The GTX670 is a proper card capable of over 100+fps in BF3 at the resolution you want to play it at and thats on Ultra. Here take alook at the benchmarks, BF3 is on that list at various resolutions:http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/598

I was not to sure bout Far Cry 3 but i found this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2dsaWBZMzQ

Everything maxed out @1080p with a GTX670.

Your processor may be an issue but then again it might not be, the GTX670 will be the biggest gaming gain you could purchase. So get the GTX670 and the ipad mini if it tickles your fancy and in the future if your cpu starts giving you issues during gaming, $90 gets you a 965BE and that will take care of the issues.

I totally forgot that i can sell my current gpu it's an GT 440, Then i'll sell my current cpu too. Maybe I'll have to do without computer for 2 days when my cpu gets shipped. But then with that money i can get the 965. Perfect plan! :) Thanks for your time.

Sir you have to make sure your power supply can handle the GTX670, please let us know which power supply you have and motherboard as well so we can check if there may be any isues with the 965BE.

Get a more expensive Mobo, like the MSI z77 g45, It's maybe 20 bucks more and you get the SLI option

The motherboard i have right now is a biostar, It's the n68s3b. I don't know which psu i have but it has 450W It does have 2 6 pin connectors unused, Those will work with the gtx 670. But i have another psu which i don't know the name of either. It's 600W and 80 plus bronze certified it's at my parent's house somewhere but i don't really needed it because the one i have is enough. Can i use the one i have with the gtx 670? Or do i need to put the other one in. It's such a hassle changing all the cables because i'm not the best at building computers.
