Ok my grandpa gave me and old tower he had and i have been considering stripping it down and modding it to put more modern parts in,and mabye one day when i have money make an awesome sleeper out of it,but looking at it i see one problem,it has a ton of expansion slots, but not a normal I/O part, also i am not sure but the think the power supply is slightly bigger than atx,but i am not sure cause i am still trying to figure out to get disasimbled lol.
If you guys need i can try and get some pics.
Also keep in mind i don't have much if any money to spend on modding it for now.
Are you trying to mod the case just because you want to as a fun project or because you need a case? Because if you need a case, depending on how old that case is you probably should just save to money you may spend on getting modern parts and buy a new good case. But I'm getting a feeling you just want a fun project. If so, just buy a new case anyway and use parts from that.
Well i already have a good case for my main rig,i have the CM Haf 932,but the case i want to mod was givin to me by my grandpa it is a texas instruments tower and i have never seen one before,(i have seen the old ti-99 4a)but never a desktop made by them, also my grandpa used to work for them, also the case is from the 80's,plus it is old enough that even if it still boots up,it's not useable for anything i can think of,and i was going to put some old parts i have lying around(like an old amd x2 and am2 mobo)
Here is a link to 2 pics i took of it,and sorry for the horrible quality but all i have is a $20 "HD" camera from walmart lol.

save up some money and make a sleeper pc out of it
that is what i plan, but to start i am going to mod it to be able to use a modern mobo(which is what i need help with)then until i can afford to make it a sleeper i will install some parts i am not using a amd x2 5600+ 2.8ghz,4gb of 667mhz ddr2 ram,and a 9600gt,just until i can afford new parts.
Now if you look at the pics and at the one of the back of the case you will see my bigest problem with getting it to use a modern mobo.
When it comes to case mod artwork, the sky is the limit, what moves your spirit?
Well idk yet what all i want to do to it but right now i am trying to decide how i am going to mod the back of the case to support a modern mobo.
If you look at this pic of the back of the case you will see my problem lol.
o0oooo000000o00o0o0o, that is a dinosaur, better see if it has the right standout positions for a modern mobo too..if it does i would be surprized.....
Well i have not been able to open it yet, cause it has a lock on the front and it is locked so i have to ask my grandpa if he has the key, also if it does not have the right stand off positions for a modern mobo, i was planing on drilling out some new ones, also i have some standoff screws to use.
It doesn't even have a modern IO sheild port. Also that picture is really terrible!!
I was trying to think of a way to make it fit a modern IO sheild port, and that is what i have been trying to ask, also sorry about the pic all i have is a cheap $20 walmart "HD" camera lol.
Best way would be to cut the back shield off a more modern case and fit it to that one..
