Hey, new here, been watching The Tek for a couple months though, great videos. Anyway, I'm planning on building a second machine for my sis. I have some parts left from my old build, a Rosewill destroyer case, 8gb g.skill ripjaws 1333mhz RAM, and a Zotac gts 450 AMP!
Here are the things I'm planning on getting:
Asus P8Z77: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837
i5 3570k: http://microcenter.com/product/388577/Core_i5_3570K_34GHz_LGA_1155_Processor
Corsair Builder series 500w: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027
WD Black 1TB HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533
What I'm wondering is if anyone here has any better recommendations for this build, I do plan on upgrading the graphics card eventually.
If she doses not need a more powerful processor get her like a phenom II 965 and a 970 exreme motherboard from asrock
then put some money into a ssd
Hope it helped!

yeah, she can live with a less powerful processor. I'm using a 970 extreme4 with a fx-8320 right now, i could use this as an excuse to upgrade my mobo hmmm....
yeah, unless you get a better graphics card in there the build to me doesn't seem very balanced. an i3 in the ivy bridge series would perform just as well
I just sold the 450 for 50 bucks so it's out of there. not sure what i'll replace it with yet.
This is what it looks like so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zOpg
she'll have to deal with only 500gb and no ssd since she's not paying for it.
the RAM and mobo I already have, I was considering the gtx 650 as a graphics card because of the low power usage so the 430w would be enough . and since I'd be using my current mobo for that build I was considering upgrading to this:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055QYKQE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
with that graphics card and processor set up the 430w psu would be 100w above what the extreme power supply calculator recommends.
-edit-
Just noticed that 500w psu I had up before is cheaper after rebate so i'll stick with that. Now what graphics card do I want in it...
