Need a suggestion for a monitor. $400 budget

So I've been running an I-INC IH252 for probably 4-5 years now and I think it's time for an upgrade.
Here's kind of what I'm looking for.
Looking for a decent panel so IPS would be a plus but if it's a nice TN that's ok.
120hz
1440p
Lowish input lag. Doesn't have to be competition grade but clearly the lower the better.
Freesync would also be awesome since I run AMD.
25"+

I found this Acer XG270HU and it seems like everything I want but i dont know how nice the TN panel is.

Any suggestions?

That combo is the best you'll find, a 1440p 144hz IPS panel starts at like $550 for the free-sync version which has a poor implementation of free-sync

Otherwise 1440p IPS 60hz displays go for around $250

The one I posted isnt an IPS though. It's TN.

And thanks for the spreadsheet. I'll check it out.

I just realized that my two 7950s don't support freesync so that's not really important to me anymore. But I think I might actually hold out and see if the ASUS MG279Q goes on sale since that's 144hz 1440p IPS. Unless you guys think that's a bad decision. $299 for the 144hz 1440p TN is a great deal but I also can't get over that glossy red bezel haha.

Tape it or paint it, that monitor is normally around $450

Otherwise it's still a decent idea to pick up a free-sync display in case you go for like a Fury or something on sale

or just save up and get the Wasabi Mango and be set for life on your display, if you can fit a 40" display

You're probably right haha. And if I don't like it I could always return it. I'll give it a go.

This 30" HP doesn't match your specs, but it is the one I plan to get soon.
My priority is Photoshop but it should be OK for games. 12ms response.

$1700.00 when new > $250.00 used.

I actually went for a bit of gamble in terms of monitor choice. The Acer looked great for the money but I really wanted IPS. I decided to go with the CrossOver 2795QHD. I know I'm being kind of risky of dead pixels and a kind of unknown as far as how far I can overclock it but it's worth a shot.

I have this and LOVE it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KYCSRSG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01

27" 1440p IPS

  1. never EVER going back to 1080p
  2. I did my research, the input lag is VERY low when all screen effects are off.
  3. IPS means good color for other things like picture and video editing.

if you can find a refurbed ASUS MG279Q
it would be very worth it
