Have them spin up a dev VM in their datacenter. You shouldn’t be doing that on your laptop.
Once you aren’t running a VM, your laptop should be perfectly fine for web dev work.
If you just want something new, I would go for an XPS15 or if you use an external monitor or care about portability, an XPS13. Either way don’t run your dev VM on the laptop.
