I need a new mouse but I can't seem to find a lot of personal stories from people with large hands. My hands are 7.75in (19.5cm) long, quite wide, and I prefer palm grip. I play almost entirely FPS games. I have heard that optical mice are more accurate than laser, but I have also heard (from Logan) that several of the mice that use the avago 9800 laser sensor have fixed the acceleration. Personal stories of use mean a lot more than rattling off the salesman lingo from the product page.
Well aside from just rebuying one of those you could look to one of these, fairly modular and relatively cheap for what it offers, not sure on the hardware
zowie just updated their line ups to omrons from huanos and changed their 24 step scroll wheels to 16 step they have no drivers(plug and play), they have simple and clean designs http://rexflo.net/collections/zowie
i just ordered mine since my deathadder black edition died
I have large hands and I like my R.A.T. 3 mouse. All of the RAT mice are adjustable and modular with different finger grip wings, palms and weights available. The software is good too. I like having my vertical DPI set slower than my horizontal. This pic shows it closed up, mine is adjusted to be about 12mm longer at the palm.
Hmm I just got a zowie ZA11 last week and it seems too be from "old" stock as it is not "refreshed brand design with the logo in red color and product packaging"... well it works fine
i have been using this mouse for about a year now and i haven't noticed anything bad about it at all apart from the middle button not always working properly due to me dropping it after a lan party. i dont notice any latency and i find the side buttons really useful in game (i have bound them to my items in dota cause im a filthy scrub and im bad at using the keyboard for both items and abilities).
I'll second the G602. Picked one up recently and it instantly became my favorite mouse.
I don't really care for the side buttons, but I almost never use side buttons.
It uses AA batteries so no recharging, and can run off of one or two batteries (so the weight is semi-adjustable depending on how many batteries you use. One battery will last up to 125 hours of gaming, two will last up to 250.
Only goes up to 2500 DPI, but I (and probably most people) never need more than 1600 anyways.
Optical sensor is flawless, no noticeable wireless lag.
Great shape and super comfy materials.
Right and left clicks are comparable to G303/G502. Nice and crisp, not too light like Razer stuff.
Cant go wrong with with G602 if wireless is what you are looking into. i had a some mouses ranging from Razer Orochi, CM Storm Advanced Sentinel (awesome braided wired mouse, which i would recommend if wired you're looking into), and settle for the G602. Custom side button binding according to games, battery even works on single AA, nice weight to it and quality build. Happy with the purchase and has been travelling with me since.
