SO! I am in need of a new GPU, I don't have much to spend £300ish, give or take a bit.
I'm looking for something that will play current games, Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3, GTA IV (Moded to sin) at a good framerate, 55+ FPS 1080p maxed out. It aloso needs to be able to play the "next gen" games that are coming, at similar framerates at sexy settings.
I know no one really knows what will be required for the "next gen" titles but I'm sure someone can make a cloes aproxomation.
I was thinking: GeForce GTX 670 4gb or an AMD 7970, I know that is a fair amount more than £300 but if it is worth it then I shall save up some more.
All other recomendations are welcome, thanks guys.
7970s are fantastic, but I don't recommend them for multi-GPU situations. AMD CF tends to be much more 'unstable' in the delivered frames, compared to Nvidia SLI.
THIS is part of what I'm talking about. Of course, it could all be a lie/made up. But if this is true, you will be much better off waiting for a few months.
Since you're on a budget if nVidia and AMD actually releases their new shit around summer, you may be looking anywhere from 15-30% increase in performance with the new stuff.
TO Warlord4000: It's worth waiting. You can get more money from work, and even if the new GPUs don't come out, at least you'll have like 500 pounds to buy stuff like two 670s. :D
