Right now I'm running a saphire 6750 and a 350watt power supply. Wanting to uprgrade both, thinking of going to a 660 ti. Any suggestions? (running an i5 2500k and a very basic mother board).
660ti is a solid card. However, right now for the money, I'd reccomend something AMD. Perhaps a 7850 or 7950. I think the 660ti is a bit on the overpriced side. What games are you looking to play and at what resolutions?
pretty much 1080p, i dont really do any overclocking yet, waiting for my next build with liquid cooling for that. I want to be able to play crysis 3 on 1080 when it comes out at atleast 30fps.
would both of of those cards be sizeable upgrade?
Either of those cards will be a HUGE leap over your 6750. If you're looking to play Crysis 3 at 1080p on the 7850, you'll probably be getting 30fps on max settings. However, with the 7950 at those same settings, you'l be looking at probably 45-50fps. Keep in mind that the 7850 costs about 180$, whereas the 7950 costs around 300-330$, and comes with 3gb of gddr5 memory instead of 2gb.
Would you recommend the 660ti over the 7950? because the benchmarks are more or less pretty similiar and the 660ti is about $60 cheaper
Here's the cards I'd recommend for each:
660ti: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133466&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
7950: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202006&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
If you really don't want to spend the additional 40$ for the 7950, the 660ti is a fantastic card. Although, it won't be quite as overclockable as the 7950.
Also, here's the PSU I'd recommend for your build:

It'll give you plenty of headroom if you plan on upgrading, and it's fully modular, which gives you the option of only putting the cables you need, which makes cable management a breeze. Although, if you don't care for the modular aspect of the PSU, this will save you 10$.

I can't argue at all with Matman24, those are indeed some pretty solid suggestions. However, I'd like to reccommend the UltraLSP650 650Watt Power Supply and the EVGA GeForce GTX 550ti 2GB. I'm currently running both of those in my system and it's quiet, fast, and reliable. The power supply is also 80+ Bronze so that's good. The GTX 550ti is a great card for the money, but if you're willing to spend a bit more, I'd go with the 660Ti that Matman24 reccommended. :)
my current build has an i5 2500k, 12 gbs of ram, and an intel dq67sw, i shouldnt have any bottlenecking with the 660 ti will i?
Nope, there shouldn't be a bottle neck. Like Logan recommends, 7870 is solid. For power supplies, I recommend Seasonic. For example, a 650 Gold Series will run about 90 bucks on newegg:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151088
