Next year I'm going to Engineering School and I need a laptop to do some light CAD work (as in 2D modeling) and other such student productivity type stuffs. Portability is a must, I really don't want to lug anything more than 4 or 5 pounds around and would much prefer something more along the lines of 3. This doesn't need to do any gaming and actually I would prefer that it doesnt, My budget is around $1300 USD, and I would prefer a more professional looking one. check out the Lenovo Y410p, it has a powerful processor and a graphics card that is plenty for 2D modeling, plus it weighs 5.5 pounds which is reasonable.
