So hello. I plan on building my pc in Novemeber, so its less a month away. Before I state the format, I already have a hard drive,Kingston ssd, and a poop gpu. I will be upgrading to a 7850 hopefully in december. The reason I pointed that out is because you do not know how many people dont read the original post.
Budget: $400-$450
Where do you live: America
-Is there a retailer you prefer? Nope
Do you need or already have peripherals? I got monitor, mouse, and keyboard
What will you be using your future computer for? Gaming, but nothing too intense.
Do you overclock or want to get into overclocking? Not once I get it, maybe, just MAYBE later
Do you plan on going for custom watercooling now, or in the future? lol nope.
OS. Do you need a new one? Yup, Windows 7
Just a case that I want in my build is the midi arc r2.
So many problems >.<, @OP, DO NOT put an octacore on a motherboard like that, at least go with 970. Another problem is that PSU, EVGA might make good GPUs but their PSUs are terrible and their motherboards are meh. I'd also recommend getting 2 RAM modules, as to take advantage of dual channel and, this is optional, get 1600+MHz RAM, but that's not necessary.
Build I suggest (much better): http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Sheepyy_/saved/2F6f
Sorry That I went $40 Over :L
Why I went with each part:
CPU: It's a really good CPU, not as good as the 8350 but it's very close and for the money, you won't get better
No cooler cause you said you weren't overclocking straight away and I needed to cut costs
Motherboard: My personal favourite AM3+ board (apart from the sabertooth), has great overclocking as well as having Crossfire options
Memory: Nice memory, dual channel, good manufacturers, etc.
Case: Great airflow, cheap price
Power Supply: If you haven't heard of PC Power and Cooling before, they're basically the same things as the OCZ ZT series, which are very high quality. I went with 600w (which is way overkill for a 6300 and 7850) as to let you upgrade more in the future (such as crossfiring, as it is an option with the motherboard that I chose)
Optical Drive: it's and optical drive, 'nuff said
Windows 7. I recommend you use windows 8 and startisback instead (don't get 8.1), but it's your choice.
I like it, but I dont think I need that much pricey of a motherboard. I'm not going to overclock THAT much. Would the non pro version of that be better? Or the le? Also, would a xfx psu be better? Its cheaper, and only 50 watts less.
Yeah, I went over with both in case you wanted to overclock in the future.
If you want a cheaper motherboard look into something such as the AsRock Extreme/Pro series 970 chipsets, I wouldn't touch ASUS 970 Chipset motherboards.
With the power supply, you could go all the way down to a 500w PSU, I added the extra for future upgrades :)
Go with an AsRock Pro4 or Extreme series, not a fan of Pro3 personally
That case is a big nono, I personally hate the thing. Way overpriced and feels a bit cheap. That's just my opinion though, go with it if you want (I just recommend something such as an NZXT Tempest 210 or Corsair 200/300R because they're better in terms of airflow etc.)
the rev4.1 supports the 8350 with latest bios. it has gigabyte build quality (compared to anything in the same price range), low rds on and heatsinked mosfet. for $50 bucks that's an extremely good deal. the only thing the chipset is lacking is sata3, but that's not important on a very budget gaming rig. it also doesn't support faster than 1333 ram, but the speed or channels don't matter for games.
OP will get better frame rates with the 8350, it'll be quieter with the 212 and can fit in a really cool small case, that's why i told him to take a look at the arc mini. my build is under budget because op wanted to get a 7850 and that's pretty bad value compared to the 7950 so i was trying to offset the cost a bit.
I could have been wrong about the PSU, it's not diablotec though lol and 80+bronze...
@OP. you can download an ISO of windows 7 and boot up from a usb drive, install the os, download latest drivers from internet too. no need for optical drives really. also the MB I linked has built in graphics so you might not even have to use your "poopyGPU"
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1TBkk , i really dont like fractal cases because of the price and that case would eat alot of your budget, i like cooler master, rosewell (these are super cheap and work well). the reason i picked an athlon and an fm2+ board is that the new CPUs will be on the fm socket and they have alot newwer chip set designs. I would also consider going to microcenter, if so you can save 40-100 on all the items you buy if you do some checking and keep track of some of their deals they have going on. but thats just my two cents
If you were talking about my build yes. but like i said i dont know your tastes so i didnt add one. Personally for a build with such a low budget id just get one of the thermaltake 20$ boxs. they work fine and have a few usbs and what not on it.
