Need a decent 1TB Internal Hard Drive

I'm looking to get a decent second hard drive, preferably with these specs (or as close as you can get):

7200 RPM

3GB/S Read/Write speed

Internal Serial ATA

Mechanical drive (HDD)

One Terrabyte of Storage

easy to set up with Windows 7

Under $75 USD

That's about it.  I haven't seen many drives under $70 with these specs, so I just wanted to see what your oppinions would be.  I've looked at newegg and best buy, and I've found some really nice Seagate drives.  Thanks in advance guys!

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.98 @ Outlet PC)

The seagate is a little faster the Western Digital is more reliable Western digital Black is faster and more reliable but more expencive

If you can find A WD black for under 75, grab it. But the WD blue drives are good to.

I have the Blue. I like it but I see so much WD hate on the forums that I am just waiting for it to fail and hopefully that takes a long time.

I can only recomment getting the seagate since WD tend to fail much more often and their customer service isnt up to scratch

Seagates are super reliable and have decent performance all round

I'll try out the western digital black or blue, depending on which I like from the online reviews.  Which would you guys reccomend, WD Black or WD blue, based on performance?

WD Black has lower seek times and faster r/w speeds so its a faster hd but ether are good

Take your pick of whatever the cheapest brand is at the moment that has at least 32 MB of cache. You don't really need the premium of 64 MB of cache, but the larger the better. Sata 3, 6Gb/s is fully backwards compatible with Sata 2 3Gb/s. If you are choosing WD, then try to find their Caviar Black. With seagate you should get the Barraccuda, and Toshiba and Hitachi only make one 7200 RPM series a piece. Samsung also makes quality drives. So it really is up to which brand you happent o prefer, because almost all of them will wind up performing within the margin of error from each other.

Here you go.

1TB WD Caviar Green

Thank you SO much!
