Windows 7 Professional came in the mail the other day, and i'm so happy! My 960's coming most likely some time next week. It just shipped. And my build will be ready to be.. errr... built. Anyway. I remember that people usually recommended that when you first start up your PC after installing a new Graphics Card, you should stop the OS from installing drivers for whatever reason by clicking on the notification in the system tray. Does this still hold true? I take it that using the provided disc that comes with your GPU is also still a no-no? What about the disc that came with my motherboard?
Also. I hear there are ways of reducing wear and increasing lifespan of an SSD. That's what i intend to do. Read up on it. And getting rid of indexing on SSDs looks to be something that everyone should do. Found a video. Is this good enough to follow or is this guy missing something? What about the step in the BIOS? Is it really necessary?
Overall, i'm looking at optimizing resource utilization as well. I want to know as much as possible about making sure my PC is working with as much mathematical perfection in mind and with as little unnecessary stress as possible.
