Nadella's first indicative speech today!

I put this in the subforum "Windows" because there is no subforum "closed source software and other obfuscated malware" lol

But seriously, Nadella is going to give his first speech today that will shed some light on where he is going with Microsoft. Speculations are that he's going to announce MS-Office for iOS, but I think he would not do the speech himself if it were only that. We know that Microsoft forced OEM's to install MS-OneNote by default on all Windows 8 preloaded systems last week, so I think it has something to do with an overhaul of cloud services by Microsoft. I really think that they are going to offer a bunch of honeypot services to draw people in, because "gratis" is the only way they can really compete with Google, and they know it.

I also hope that he has some kind of at least a bit exciting news that would restore hope in Microsoft, like open sourcing all Windows 9 code, but that's probably not going to happen lol.

It will be interesting to see what weapons Microsoft prepares to attack the free world in their next offensive. Maybe Nadella is really not evil (I know right... not a chance lol). At least it will be interesting to see what kind of an opponent the free world has to face next, whether it's just another Gates lap dog, who comes out in public to say nothing of value at all, or whether it's a more challenging opponent, with an elaborate strategy and some kind of a vision that has something to do with technology.

I'm not expecting much, but nevetheless, I'm very interested. These speeches are usually very revealing as to the kind of CEO we're dealing with.

So the speech just ended, and damn' it was lame!

Office 365, better organized Microsoft spyware, OK... so nothing new.

Office Everywhere, but only on closed platforms, not on open platform, so when Microsoft says "cross-platform", they still mean the opposite, because the only real cross-platform system with software that listens to its users, is explicitly avoided by them, and they keep on suggesting the Balmer thingy, that linux is not "first world".

Very disappointing, Nadella is not the smarter guy I thought he would be, he's just a Gates and Balmer lap dog.

General conclusion of the presentation: Microsoft moves further in the direction of an extortion model, just like Adobe did with Adobe CC. Everything else they said pretty much sounded like marketing bullshit and lies to me.

that sucks.
