Sorry, wasnt sure where I was supposed to post this, there was no build forum.


But this is what I was thinking.


I have a budget of around $1100


750i EVGA FTW

9800GTX EVGA

2GB G.SKILL 800 memory (on the mobo AVL)

650w modular psu xigmatek

e8400 dual core 45nm

antec 1200 case

acer 22" black lcd display


thats just about it, ill be recycling other parts


i didnt bother posting links because i assume most of you know what the part is, but the prices add up to around 1100ish


thoughts?


after i get some more money after ill buy an aftermarket HSF and overclock a bit

it all looks nice but if at all possible I would try for the 9800gtx+

Get another 2gb of RAM (for 4gb total). All the games coming out pretty much require 4gb of RAM in order to play them on the highest visual settings. Other than that, everything looks pretty good. And like blooddrunk said, get a 9800gtx+.


Are you going to be OC'ing that 8400?

im under a budget


ill get more ram when more money becomes available, and the 9800GTX will last me until i step up, because the differences between the two are not appealing to me to spend another 40


and, i will be overclocking my cpu lightly until i get a tuniq tower, and ill push the 9800 a little bit, but not too far until im comfortable

do u ever plan on going sli. if so id save some money by getting an antec 900 (or just save a little more money) then getting a 780i. or if you arent going to sli then a p45 board would be better.


but ya otherwise the build looks good.

if u have a 32bt os getting more than 2gbs of memory a waste. i need to make the switch to vista 64 since only 2.5gbs of my memory is being used, im just to lazy to do it because ill have to redownload like and install like 25 games and redo my music library.

inb4fourgigs32bitdrama. on the flip side, you can just pirate a cooperate edition of XP, i can message you a working link if you would like. then you can spend the money it would of cost for that OS on more ram and the 9800GTX+

dont listen to clown. first off, the only reason you would want the 9800gtx PLUS is if you wanted to overclock it more. for 40 bucks more, its just not worth it. you dont NEED 4 gigs of ram, i have 2 in my pc and i can run crysis warhead just fine with my 8800gt and 2.0ghz dual core. i think your build is a perfect build, stick with it. i dont know to much about xigmatec, but im sure they are good. and its modular!

well if hes gonna ever edit videos or photoshop it up, the more ram the better. so suck my painted dick! ;_; also Kokun, i got many parties this weekend, come on out :D will grab some 40's and have some fun.

u want to go for 4 gb and a quad core + consider getting a 780i for 16 X 16 X 16

instead of 750i 16 X 8 or else if you dont plan to SLI get the P45

I like how you guys keep telling me to spend more money when im on a budget.


All poop aside, OS is not a problem for me, and im pretty much set down with what I have right now.


Of course I will upgrade my ram and such sooner or later, but this is just a starter, theres always more paychecks after that.


The only reason its staying budget is because I want it done for Fallout 3.

i dont need to buy any operating systems for this build, I already own a few


ill be sticking on xp32bit until i get a new HDD in the coming months.

by then ill have some more ram and be ready to move over to vista, if im interested

lol oh yea fuck microsoft, some indian kept spewing the same shit over and over again about how i can't use my product number on more than one computer i own. and yet i was able to use it on all of them for years, until i used it one too many times reformatting my dad's computer.


fffffffuck microsoft. the next time i buy their OS is when i'm richer than bill gates. (so probably never.)
