My 'Ultimate' Build List, any advice?

Hey guys, I'm looking to build a new rig and I have put together this little log to give me a general idea of how much it is going to cost and roughly the sort of components to look for. This list is what I have so far and is most certainly subject to change as there will be new solutions available closer to the time.

But for now I'm looking for opinions and constructive criticism.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

With such a large budget you should probably be looking at socket 2011.

Change the ram to a 2133 kit with a cl of 9:  http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f32133c9q32gzh http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cmd32gx3m4a2133c9

  • Three 1440p 120 Hz + monitors might require more than 2 290Xs in Crossfire to play new games at maximum settings. I would either get two 780 Tis or wait for the Maxwell cards to be released. I'm not trying to be a nVidia fanboy, I'm just saying that 290Xs aren't the best option if you're driving three demanding monitors.
  • Which watercooling components are you going to use?
  • With such a large budget, going to LGA2011 or even LGA2011-13 might be better if you really want extreme performance. So maybe the 4930K and a Rampage IV Extreme instead of the 4770K and a Classified.

It would also help a lot to know what this rig will be used for.

I would do something like this, and not even bother with water cooling. The gtx 780 ti's are better than the r9-290x's anyway, so why not save the money on the watercooling and just get a better card. I also dont understand why you were going to get 4x120bg SSD's. It makes no sense. A single SSD is more than fast enough to load the most demanding of games. The performance gain is negligible.

I also changed the power supply to a platinum one that is powerful enough and cost less.

I also agree that a socket 2011 would be better on this budget, but I don't think it is necessary either.

Lastly, if you are going to openloop water cool these things, then you had better be sure you get the cherry-picked graphics cards that are chosen for their high overclock potential. Like the classified's from EVGA or the Lightning series or etc. You could just be wasting a lot of money otherwise..

Get an air system setup first, then upgrade to water if you feel like you really want to.

I suggest you change the SSDs to one or two Pro 256GB, rather than 4 half-sized and less powerful ones.
