My new build

Hello peoples so I've almost saved enough money.

Looking at a ASUS Z170M-PLUS, the intel 6600k (cooler recommendations please, something not excessive in price, but won't sound like a 747), still undecided on the gpu tossing up between rx480 and gtx 1060 and it'll probably come down to what I can get a good deal on when I'm ready to buy, 16gb ddr4 mushkin low profile memory (again subject to deals at purchase just after 16gb ddr4).

So this is to get opinions on changes you'd make and also how you'd configure the storage. I'm going to get an intel 600p m.2 but I'm wondering if I should use that for my primary games and a secondary ssd for os and stuff. I'm sort of feeling I can skip mass storage as I stream most video now and will just have games and my steam library isn't huge.

So yeah cpu cooler suggestions what you'd do with the storage and any other comments or suggestions.

Arctic Freezer i11 should do.
I would go with the RX480. Just becuase AMD cards age better and it has crossfire, should you ever decide you want to go that way.

You did not mention a PSU, so maybe take a look at this

Why not wait a couple of months for Kaby Lake?

Sorry I can't stand this sentence. Why would anybody wait for the next gen of cpu? It's proven by benchmarks it doesn't do much.

From a thread reviewing a Cooler Master thread:
Everybody said this was the one

Because the current generation chips have been out for for over a year (August 5, 2015). And there is no price discount for buying one this late in its cycle. You might as well have the absolute latest if there is no discount.

I know waiting sucks. I waited for Broadwell-E... and was constantly running out of RAM for over a year because I didn't upgrade during the Haswell-E cycle (didn't upgrade because DDR4 was new and expensive).

Also, Zen is around the corner too. Right now is just not a good time to buy.

Intel already released their Kaby Lake Price List.
Looks good to me and I'm an AMD guy

Think your link for psu didn't paste or something. I'm going with a 650 semi modular sea sonic, can't remember the model sorry.

Click on the "this"

In case it is broken for real:

Not sure what performance I'll gain in my use case. Also I'm hoping there will be sales with the release coming up.

Oh sorry missed it with glare

Gotta love cryorig... the best CPU coolers nobody has heard of

Wish I know about them before I actually spent money:)

Just looked it up, one supplier in NZ and they are out of stock. If I order before 5pm then it'll arrive no sooner than 6/12/16

That's great. The i5 6600 is a great cpu and this video I think shows it is a much better choice for gaming then the more expensive i7.
From what I have heard it is a great overclocker.

On storage I am the wrong person to ask. I still have not switched to SSD.
Enjoy your build and feel free to boast about it in the build logs and post your PC guts thread. If you decide to OC it later on same thing:)

I um'd n ah'd about even getting the k model i5 was thinking about just getting a b170 chipset and locked processor to save a bit of money but decided that I could afford to step up.

Really wanted the m.2 haven't used ssd myself and going straight to pcie m.2 I'm hoping will be mind blowing.
