My mouse just died, I need a replacement

After 4 years of service my Microsoft Sidewinder x8 has died. I would happily buy the same mouse again but unfortunately it has been discontinued. So now begins the hunt for the replacement, I don't really know much about mice so I would like your help. It needs to be wireless and have the capability for more that 2000dpi. Your suggestions are valued greatly.

sniff... time to give my old mouse a viking burial

What price range are you looking for?

Ideally around £60 to £80 (I'm English) I guess thats around $100 ~ $130

you should look at the Logitech G602

Ya the G602 is really good and has good battery life.  http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/product/g602-wireless-gaming-mouse

If your really into MMO's its a good mouse. I not into wireless mice very much. Of what I tried I like the Razer Mamba. Is basically a wireless Deathadder. It tracks real nice. When gaming at 120Hz wireless lag was not that bad. And I like basic button set ups. I have never been a fan of 14 buttons on a mouse. Just me  http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-mamba

Both mice are good choices with little lag. I guess you have to ask yourself. Do you want a simple or complex mouse with plenty of buttons. The Logitech is laser the Razer is Optical. The Logitech has longer battery life. And the Razer is rechargeable. Choices

Thanks, I don't play MMOs so I think I will give the logitech a skip, but the Razer one looks sweat. Although its kind expensive in the UK.

I'd still go for G602.

Extra buttons won't hurt you in any way, and the mouse itself is cheaper and better.

I don't recommend Razer mice. They feel cheap, accumulate dust very quickly and the two I have purchased (Deathadder and Taipan) broke within 6 months of use.

most mice with a high max dpi have sensor lag. The logitech g602 actually has one of the best sensors on the market. It also has a 3 year warranty and a battery life many times greater then most wireless gaming mice.
