I, like very few other people foolishly bought a PS Vita. Now don't get me wrong this thing has a ton of potential and could be one of if not the greatest handheld console ever... except there's one problem -- NO GAMES! I don't literally mean 'NO GAMES' but seriously what is worth buying that isn't
A) a port, and/or
B) a dumbed down version of an already existing game (ie. Black Ops 2, Assassin's Creed and Uncharted).
There are a few games that look apprealing like Gravity Rush, and Ragnarok Odyssey isn't too bad of a game however that is NOT a strong lineup of games for what is supposed to be a smash hit console. It bothers me that all this potential is being wasted. There are no games for the Vita because the Vita isn't selling and the Vita isn't selling because there are no games. They need a lot of first party support for the VIta for it to take off but not even Sony is taking the time to develop games.
Look at the 3DS, I mean it shouldn't brag about it's lineup of games because it isn't in the position to do so, but at least there are first party games worth getting.
I don't know is it still too soon to be harsh? What can Sony do to take advantage of the PS Vita?

Geez, I can only imagine your opinion of me, I own a 3DS and use it fairly frequently.

Am I the only one who doesn't like having comments removed? I get its offensive and not how you want people to view your site, but I honestly prefer the make fun of them for being childish and black out the comment but have it still there so people can view what the idiot said. Otherwise it leaves people wondering what was said.
I picked up a Vita on black friday. $180 on Amazon for the AC3:L bundle, with 3 months of PS+ and a download code for PS Allstars. My problem is that I don't have a big enough memory card for all the games I want to play. Right now though;
Gravity Rush is a blast. It took me a while to get into it,and I'm not sure I like Kat as a character (she's a ditzy airhead so far. Funny, but a ditzy airhead.) Once I got the hang of gravity shifting everywhere, and once the game started to use it, it got way better.
I just tried the Ragnarok Odyessy demo, and I plan on buying it. I can't really say more than that.
Mutant blobs Attack is great for things like waiting in line at the bank, or waiting for the bus. Very casual, very fun.
I haven't had it long enough to really try it out, or even download all the games PS+ gives me for free, but looking at the PSN store it seems like there are tons of games I haven't even heard of that I want to try.
I'll say this though, if you spend 2 hours a weeek gaming on a Playstation 3, or a Vita, it's totally worth it to get PS+. The full version games that you can play are worth it alone. Nevermind the fact that my system updates the firmware, backsup all my saves, and updates the games at 2am automatically.
I play Metal Gear Solid HD, Hustle Kings, and a PSP game called Creature Defense. The last one is by far one of the most entertaining games I have ever played, its a tower defense game and unlocking everything takes a lot of strategy unlike some of the other TD games I've played
I don't see why most everyone here on The Tek is hating on consoles. It's a great platform that goes side-by-side with PC gaming. If consoles had graphics as good as a PC, do you think most people would still bother with gaming on a PC?
I personally like the PSP. It was a great console of it's time and had a great screen. The DS was also great.
If you want to use your PS Vita, buy a game, or use a hack to be able to play homebrew games and apps( some apps will let you play GameBoy and DS), PSP games and PSOne games.
There are a some good games on the PS Vita, as far as I know, Persona is a good one. Gravity Rush, too.
I understand people will be curious, but it's better to keep the thread constructive and on topic instead of an irrelevant flame war. Even if I blacked it out instead so people could see it if they wanted, they'd probably chime in to retaliate against him, taking the thread in the wrong direction. Best to avoid that and just remove it completely.
I bought a PS Vita and I agree there are no games as of now. Its pathetic, and they wonder why Nintendo is dominating them with the 3DS. although there are a couple of decent games on the vita but as of right now nothing much. Hopefully it will change in the future
The only reason i bought a 3DS was for the games. I dont even use the 3D. So far the vita lacks games so bad its not even funny. Hopefully soon it will get some killer titles.
I have 2 VItas! One with USA account, and one with a Japanese account. Ive actually used them WAY more than my 3DS which has been collecting dust for quite some time now. Yes I know the Vita is region free, but the DLC isnt, if its a japanese import you cant get the DLC unless you have a japanese account which was an annoying discovery for me.
There are so many more games on the japanese PSN and is supported far more than here in the states.
I do agree the system has a problem with only getting ports. I would really love to see more love! I was super disappointed that sequel to Tearaway wasnt released on the console it was originally intended for as the first game was amazing but felt like a short demo.
Sadly Sony practically dropped the vita shortly after it came out as they deemed it pretty much a lost cause. One of the major problems was they marketed it as a portable console and not as a handheld, so any games that came out for it were graded as inferior console games instead of powerful and innovative handheld games.
They pretty much just market the thing as an accessory for the PS3 and PS4 now....
But I will always enjoy the great rhythm games that came out on the system.
I heard of Gravity Rush getting a sequel and I seriously hope it comes out on the vita as gravity rush was the first game I wanted for it but it wasnt available at launch T_T. It was a pretty good game.
I bought one and loved it, wish there were more dedicated games, but personally I loved uncharted... shame they cheapened the screen to non amoled etc...
The problem for me was the screen... screeen tech changes so quickly that a sub 1080p screen was no good for me so I sold it.
