My game PC

Hi,

I am building my first gaming pc, and this is what I've come up with. I was hoping that you could give me some advice about my current build to perhaps make it even better. I am on a budget of around 650 euros. Thanks in advance for anything you can tell me.

Cooler Master G650M

MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC

Intel Core i5-3340

ASRock Z77M, socket 1155

G.Skill 8 GB DDR3-1866 Kit

Zalman T1 Plus (case)

You allready have storrage?

i would advice you to get a haswell i5. like the 4430 or the 4570. and grab a H87 or H97 mobo, you will just have a little bit more to choose from, wenn it comes to mobo´s.

i would also recommend to grab R9-280  instead of the GTX760. because the R9-280 3GB vram its a 7950, which will perform significaly better then a GTX760.

i´m currently making a tweakers part list for you. i could not find a price for the particular Zalman case you want, But there is budget room for a case. i assume you allready have storrage? if not you probably have to trow in some extra €20 i think that will be allright.

Thanks a lot, I forgot to mention I already have a 320GB storage disk, so I won't be needing any hard disks. I will look into to the stuff you recommended, thanks a lot for the fast reply! have a nice day

I have one question: what are mobo's?

I have one more question: What is the difference between the two processors, except for the 3100 MHz being 3200 MHz? Thanks for the help!

Short term for motherboard.

I apologize for the many replies :P. What about this for a graphics card? MSI N760 TF 4GD5/OC. It's a bit more expensive, but I have a little buy of money left. Don't necessarily want to spend it, but if it'll help.

Thanks I get a bit more now :P have a nice day

The 4570 is a from a newer generation, so it will be a bit more powerful. Intel doesn't reduce prices on their older products so it's better to go for the newest generation if you're building a new rig, especially if prices between generations are similar.

Another question: What is the difference between my selected memory and your suggested memory? Only reply if you want to :P again have a nice day

If a game will need that much memory then the 760 will probably struggle to keep good framerates, so i wouldn't consider it an option. More thoughts on this from other users might be useful, as i don't have hands on experience with it.

Ok thanks man, have a nice day :)

okay well lets sum up.

4570 is a haswell cpu´s its newer generation, slightly better performance.

GTX760 TF 4GB is useless, because card is not powerfull enough to utilize that amount of vram anyway. still the R9-280 has 3GB of vram, and this card performs also alot better then a GTX760 4GB.

Memory diffrence, i have no idea which memory you have selected only G.skill 8GB 1866mhz does not tell me very much, you got diffrent models G.skills. ive selected the snipers, because i think they look nice, but they are also CL9 1866mhz on 1.5V and thats nice.

I have trown out the HDD from the whish list. i´m now on €570 total. so there is plenty of room left, for a case, and maybe a cpu cooler like the coolermaster 212 evo.

Thanks a lot! (ik zag dat je nederlands was :P) I will look into all of the recommended hardware and decide soon. I'm going to buy all the parts from alternate.nl . Maybe you know the site, it's dutch. With the graphics card you recommended I get three free games so that's great. Thanks for your help again! If you want I can post my final or semi-final decision as a reply when I make it.

I was wondering what I should look out for when choosing a case. Could you maybe give me some suggestions for a case? Thanks

And something else, I heard that when I pick an intel processor that I should get an NVIDIA graphics card because they are more simular than AMD with intel. Does that matter?

That is just plain nonsense. There is no performance drop or difference if you pair intel/nvidia or intel/amd.

The R9 280 will perform much better than a GTX 760.

Also, for a case it really depends on the price. A really good case would be Fractal Design Define R4, Arc midi / arc midi R2, Cooltek antiphon etc..

Hope I helped :)

Thanks for the information! I couldn't help myself so I started looking at AMD processors and the appropriate motherboards. I found one for my price range, and I was wondering if you or anyone else could tell me if I have made a good choice. Thanks !

CPU: AMD FX-8350 Vishera

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0, socket AM3+

That motherboard is weak and won't support the current draw of the FX-8350.  With AM3+, you can't skimp on the motherboard.

CPU: AMD FX-8320 (cheaper than 8350.  However, if you can afford the 8350 with any of the listed motherboards below, you can go for it)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P

Or, if you can afford it:

Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0

You can buy the FX-8320 and manually overclock it to 8350 speeds (4 GHz). There is a high chance that it will reach that speed without any need to bump the voltage or heat issues.

I personally recommend the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 revision 4 (make sure you get revision 4). I generally dislike ASUS, and I've heard some bad things about that particular model (VRM issues if I'm not mistaken).

Here's a review of the motherboard I mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xztXVg0HHns

I appreciate his videos because he actually buys a lot of the stuff he reviews, they aren't given to him like the with the big youtubers. His opinions are somewhat objective when it comes to price-to-performance ratio.
