Im new here, love the channel btw! Im planning on building a pc after Christmas, im moving over from an xbox and ive finally given up with my single core netbook!
Ive spent a few months researching and came up with this! Im going to be playing on a 720p tv, playing games like bf4 and cod. It will also be used to run program s like solidworks :D
not a bad build at all (i was actually putting together a very similar build for my brother) just keep in mind with that graphics card you'll probably only be able to run at mediumish settings. Also i'm not sure how much of this is true but i've heard around the web that AMD processors prefer faster ram. I have a fx8350 with 16Gb or g.Skillz ares 1866. not sure if that step up will make a noticable difference in your case. Not sure how set you are on having a SSD. I have watched reviewd on ssHD (hybrid hard drive) Seagate 500GB 2.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive is only 55euro so that might save you money. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEIp1jgKnv8 skip to 3.10ish and youll see the graph. (i have a 1tb sshd). and finally if you absolutly need the optical drive get it, if not you can make a windows 7/8 bootable usb from your current computer which will save you money or you can use it to bump up to a diggerent graphics cards like a 660 ti =)
first off good idea switching from xbox u wont regret it :D
But anyway looks good i would say that if you could swing it the radeon hd 7870 generally out performs the gtx 660 i think, also i believe the sapphire 7870 is on sale at amazon at the moment but you'll have to check that. Also the cpu cooler you chose might be a bit unnecessary unless you're going to overclock or you plan to in future and again if you've got any left over cash you could perhaps go for a 1tb hard drive as they arent that much more than 500gb ones. Otherwise a good system which ought to run bf4 and cod comfortably at 720p.
This is the build that I am getting. It looks really really good to me. You should be able to run any game on ultra settings at 720p with that card, and almost every game at 1080p.
I know it's £50 more, but trust me it's so worth it.
