My First Gaming PC

Im new to pc gaming and this website. I also have no idea which parts can fit in what and work together i have some knowledge of good cpu's and gpu's from logans build videos but i would like some help with a build i have about $1000 but i need the good computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and operating system. If someone could suggest some things or maybe help me understand what things fit what i would really appreciate it

Thanks, Zach

Hi Zach buddy!

Where or what will you use the PC for? Is it for gaming?

i would like to be able to play battlefield 3 all the call of duties maybe some racing games like nfs, and also for mmorpg like runescape and i will be doing some video editing like taking cod gameplay and adding music and things like that. I will be just having it in my room

970 motherboard, FX-6300, Seagate barracuda 1TB, 8GB of DDR3 1333 or 1600, 7850 or 7870 2GB

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tvis  best I could do

Is there any store or website where i can get all of that?

Keyboard and mouse and monitor are so subjective.  One person could love the fuck out of a keyboard and someone else would hate it.  Same goes for mouse and monitors.  There's like no way to objectively benchmark keyboard and mouse.

Monitors are down to preference.  Image quality vs gaming response time.  I prefer IPS or PLS panels over TN, some will call me an idiot, some will agree with my opinion.

Here's an Intel system that I put together that just barely misses the mark.  If you're willing to pirate your OS then you could definitely get the computer without compromising much.

I'm sure there could be an AMD system that can fit the budget.

You're probably going to be looking at an AMD system with a (much) slower GPU if you still want to include monitor/keyboard/mouse in your $1000 budget.  My example system comes with a randomly selected cheapest 1080p LCD, a cheapish Logitech washable keyboard because those are neat as fuck, and a Steelseries Sensei RAW mouse.

i could always just use my flat screen tv as the monitor and im sure i could squeeze together another 50 for a cheap keyboard and mouse till i can get some more money, is the intel going to be a lot faster. is it worth the extra money?

Nvidia card is better if he's gonna be editing. So the equivalent to a 7870 is probably a 660

Very nice intel system had something similar with the first try arond but sence he asked for it all I decided to do the amd system.

Well this is awkward. You have to copy the link that is in the box right above the parts list, not where you usually copy links :P

Griff1511 on that website when i select things do they just show compatible parts with the cpu and motherboard you selected?

It depends, In gaming there seems to be only about 5 to 10 fps difference in most games. The I5 getting the 5 to 10 fps more.

Not right off the bat, there are more options off to the side that you can use to narrow down the results.

okay thanks :)

No problem happy part picking!!

Will the Intel system be faster?  Yes

Will you notice it? Probably not.  Definitely not during gaming.  Maybe during recording your gaming.

Since you're going to do video gameplay I'm going to suggest that you get a third harddrive so add another one of those 1TB Seagates to the system so you can use it as a dedicated recording drive so you get maximum FPS while recording your fragging sessions.

The Intel option is significantly better, yes. But the Amd system will still perform amazingly well

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/699?vs=701 Here is a comparison between the 2 CPUs, and you can clearly see that the i5 is a lot better.

If you're going to do rendering and i think video editing goes with it as well; i would recommend going with a Nvidia GPU because of CUDA cores or whatever it's called (I'm kind of new to that area).

And also an AMD CPU is compatible with a Nvidia GPU, So if you're going to be editing, rendering etc, but don't have the money for the i5 you could go with the 6300 and a Nvidia card. There is also room for upgrades if you're going with the AMD option. I think the 8350 is the highest end CPU using the Am3+ chipset atm (Correct me if i'm wrong).

jeffrly i really appriciate it and hopefully i can find a way to get your intel build or something very similar.

toooo muchhh effort...... I had forgot about that lol
