My first gaming PC (plan)

I chose some parts i would like to know what you guys think about it, this is going to be my first gaming rig and im trying to have something future save. Im mostly interested in the PSU as i want to go crossfire (if i dont need to i could save money on that). Thanks in advance. ^^

PS: im based in switzerland, the price of this setup is 1130CHF which in pounds is 787.

I did not chose an Asus 7950 but an Club3D and the heatsink is not a Noctua but a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2.

I plan to play games like battlefield 3, crysis and some others like Tera. maybe crysis 3 not on ultra but the rest.

I would get an FX-8350 instead if the 8320 since the 8350 is 500 Mhz faster than the 8320 for not much price difference. And and an ssd maybe?

i was going to overclock the 8320, is there a big difference? from what i read its not that big when overclocking. i will be getting an ssd if i find a spare hd around my house but for the moment its not really in my budget. Im now also confused if i should get an MSI gtx 760( which i plan on overclocking) or the 7950 ( also overclocked)

The 760 = the 670 in performance (more or less) so keep that in mind.  Both that and the 7950 are great cards, so I don't think you'd be disappointed with either.

Get a bigger PSU :)

The 8320 is the same as 8350, just a lower binned chip but if you look at hwbot or google you will see that they overclock the same so go for 8320 and save some $$.

7950 is better than GTX 760 in most games.

Your PSU is a bit overkill for a single card setup, I'd go for a good quality Seasonic for $100 and get 500-600w.

i would change 3 things, first the ram, those G-skill ripjaws are high profile ram, if you gonne use a big aftermarket cpu air cooler, you gonne run into issues wenn installing those rams, because the fans of the darkforce pro, gonne  coffer some ram slots, so you need low profile ram to fit under the fan, pickup G-skill Ares 2x4GB 1866MHZ ram, then you will be Fine.

Further i would pickup a diffrent mobo, that Gigabyte UD3 board is a crap board, especialy wenn you wanne go into overclocking, better pickup a Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0  or Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0.

And the FX8350 instead of the FX8320.

And make sure it's an R2 motherboard.  R1 is bad news for the FX8350, despite it being "supported" it really isn't.  Bios update didn't do jack to make the 8350 compatible.

Some places may still be trying to hock off R1 boards.

Good point on the 8320.  But since it's the first gaming PC the 8350 would be a better choice as it has that higher performance out of the box.

As for the 7950 vs GTX 760 is yes and no.  Always depends on the game and of course drivers.  So it's a tough choice.

I have no issues running games with my GTX 670 though I do wish for more than 2GB when running a modded skyrim.

An 850w PSU maybe overkill for a single GPU setup, but PSU hit their peak efficency at 50% Load.  And you'll have that head room if you want to go dual GPU one day.

The Noctua NH-D14 is huge.  Xigmatek Dark Knight Hawk (which I've been recommending alot) won't block your ram slots and does a really good job of cooling.  And is probably cheaper than the Noctua.

The Antec 902 is a really awesome looking case.  I have one.  BUT..............

This is a big BUT (and don't think dirty)

It's narrow, you will find yourself spending an insane amount of time with cable routing to get the cables sitting nice and flat between the motherboard tray and side panel.

It's short and difficult to work with when installing motherboards with big heatsinks.

It's also short in depth so long GPU's are more difficult to fit, particularly with after market coolers such as the Arctic Accelero Extreme.

The HDD cages are another pittfall to this case.

Firstly each HDD requires 4 screws to mount.

Secondly each HDD cage has 8 thumbscrews.  You'll have to remove 16 thumbscrews just to clean 2 dust filters.

As good as this case looks and probably Antec's most aesthetically pleasing design it's a time consuming build.  And trust me you will get sick of thumb screws.

This is my old build.  Note how close the Heatsink is to the top and the GPU cooler is slightly in between the 2 HDD cages I had to move one up 2 slots.

Go for a full tower case you won't regret it.

My old build with new GPU and case Coolermaster Storm Trooper.  Much better spacing.

Upgraded but no more H100i due to a small electrical problem that melted the plugs.  Them's the breaks.

Here's a size comparison for you.
