My first gaming computer

is the rx 480 with getting instead of the r9 380/x? this is going to be my first gaming computer and i think this will be good for me. i already have 12 gigs of ddr3 ram. is there anything that could be improved before going over 700$ or even just a tiny bit over?

thanks

Go skylake

and yes wait for the 480 after market cards most likely

I'd just sell that DDR3 man, and then pick up the GPU when you get a chance, or drop to the i3 6100 which is still fine for gaming, since it has 4 threads

the haswell i5 won't be horrible exactly, it's just that you almost might as well go for skylake if possible

and I would suggest that you buy a WD red 2TB if you want a 2TB hard drive for whatever reason

RX 480 is faster by a big margin over R9 380x, but if I were you I'd wait for custom board partners for RX 480. Unless you plan on staying at stocks and your rig absolutely must have a blower design. Gamer Nexus did a tear down on it and it shows you just how lackluster the stock is.

is there a release date or anything saying when the other custom boards will be out?

probably a few weeks like the 10xx cards

He refers to allen key/hex drive as proprietary facepalm

Oh just wait, that gets better

would that computer run most games at 1080p at a pretty good frame rate?

Just look up 480 benchmarks man, it's pretty 1080p 60fps ultra settings capable,

I love big coolers.
Thanks for reminding me of the existance of that channel!
