My first computer :D

It's my birthday today and I'm getting computer parts so I can build my first computer.

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/MSSb

This is the part list for what I'm thinking of getting. Take note that I'm getting 64 bit Home Premium, not 32 (it was the only one available on the site). Also, I took apart two old computers and they have 2 hard drives in them, so I don't think I'll need to get another HDD.

I'm also tossing up what is the best graphics card around $300? I want to be absolutely sure about this. I'm open to all opinions. I just want to get the most out of the system.

Please tell me anything you would change, and hopefully using pccasegear.com since I want to get everything from the same place.

Edit: Single monitor gaming too.

Edit 2: I also have a CD drive.

Good build bro! Oh, and happy birthday! :D

But yeah great build, are you using any photoshop? If yes, maybe you could take out the ssd for now, and add that later. This would let you get a 670, which is incredible.

If you are strictly gaming, maybe go for AMD cards like the 7950, or the 7970.

But if you do edit or do graphics, go with nVidia cards no doubt, they have the CUDA Cores you need for rendering. Hope this helps!

Happy birthday "kiss kiss kiss" ☻

Build looks nice, only chance the memory modules to crosair vengeance low profile (low heat spreaders) models, cause otherwise you cant install them dual channel in slot 1/3 with that big air cooler./ then you have to install them at slot 2/4 to get dual channel, cause the fan coffers the first slot, so that makes, the vengeance ramm with high heat spreader, is in the way!

for the rest looks good, but if you mainley plan to go gaming i would say chance the GPU to a  HD7950

grtz Angel ☻

for u my friend ~

and if ur just gamming u do not render i would agree with MisteryAngel and FirstPersonShooterFitz

and two other things maybe u should change are ur psu make it 600 or 650 w

JUST  if u want some free watts if needed later

and i am sorry last time i read ur thread i was in a hurry i am very very sorry

Yes chance the power supply to a 650+ bronze. or a 750W 80+ bronze if you want to  be confortable. you can get a crosair 750W 80+bronze builder for less.

sry i didnt noticed that psu was only 520W

520 W is not a problem u can use it

as i am using 500 W with 7870 and it works great

it is just that if u need more like u wanna use one more cd rom etc

it will be handy

u should calculate how much psu u need on this site

Thanks everyone for the helpful info :)

Happy Birthday man, hope its good, and the only suggestion i have for your Rig would be a difference video card

If i were you id get a 7950, either Gigabyte of Sapphire will be the best for that price, and also bump up your PSU to something better like a Seasonic M12II or an XFX PSU.

I don't want a 7950 because I noticed the clock speed is lower and I'm only doing single monitor gaming. I think a 2GB with higher speed would be better.

Clock speed is irreleveant, 2 different Archicetures,Drivers, Stream processors,Memory interfaces ect...

the 7950 will be fatser than a 660Ti, even at low Resolutions, and with an OC will competer with the GTX 670

+1 for the 7950.

7950 will best a 660ti.

And your PSU is fine.

And you can't get 32 bit. It won't work for all 8 gigs of ram. Here-
