Are you able to OC well with it? I want to over clock my CPU as much as possible.
With the future in Ivy bridge processors around the corner, just get a 3570k. I know for Minecraft you will have no problem and as long as you're getting a GPU, you will be fine (gpu feedback already mention in previous comments). Your 212 evo will have enough cooling power for it. (3570k doesn't get real hot at all.)

If you dont plan to update in the near future def go with ivy bridge. If you want to upgrade to the new gen Intel chip, buy the cheapest one you can find right now.

They definitly can, but not as well as sandy bridge since they get pretty toasty. But with Ivy Bridge being slightly more powerful than Sandy Bridge, I wouldn't worry too much about it since I feel that it will compensate.
