Hey guys. I'm new here and hoping to build my first PC soon. The build I have so far : is http://pcpartpicker.com/p/29Up3 . This is on a tight budget but [I think] I did a good job.
I don't want to spend much now, but I'm trying to make something that has room to be upgraded.
Will this be good for future upgrades? Changes you would make while keeping the price similar?
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks!~
EDIT : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2c0ag is my new build. Comment on that instead.
I'm in no way saying you SHOULD buy either of these. I'm just saying you should consider them, and if they meet your needs then it could be a better value.
Edit: Wait wait wait. I read that wrong. The better card is cheaper. Unless you don't like rebates. In which case it's such a small difference in price it doesn't statistically matter.
You've got a great budget PC build there in my eyes. Asus makes the best motherboards, and that graphics card will be more than enough to play most games on high or even ultra. You've done very well for yourself!
If you can afford a little more, I'd throw in a nice SSD like the Samsung 840 Evo either 120 or 250 gb. That'll greatly speed up boot time and also loading times on games that you put on there.
Thanks! I wish I could spend a bit more, but this will have to do. I keep thinking I need more but this will probably be overkill for my purposes. Trying to give myself room if I ever decide to do more intensive PC gaming.
I've been considering (and wanting to add) an SSD. It'll definitely push my budget though, so it's probably something I'll get a little bit after I build the PC.
Yeah, then you're fine for now. Assuming your primary goal is gaming, you've got more than enough here to do that. In the future for upgrades, I'd probably add in an SSD, then switch the mobo and CPU to something intel, like one of the new Haswell processors, and then either add in another GPU for crossfire or upgrade it entirely.
Eh, I wouldn't. You're not going to save that much getting a cheaper motherboard that has the same quality as this one. I'd always stick with Asus boards personally too. You probably won't end up changing it for another 8-10 months at the very least I'd guess, and for that time period this is a great board. I'd stick with it.
