My first Build, is it ok? better choices?

This is basically my first build and i wanted to know how it is and what i could do better. I also know the define r4 would probably have been better but it doesn't ship to my country. The main idea of this pc will be gaming and also productivity (after effects, photoshop, 3ds max) and it really doesnt need 1:1 playback speed just something pretty good. My budget is max 1000$. I would also like motherboard suggestions as im not very good with them.

Update: Changed a few things now i only need a motherboard (a good h97 or a buudget z97 preferably)

I am not sure 4460 is the best choice for productivity.
I am guessing you will use the HDD for storage only, because that green will slow you down a bit. The blue should be around the same price, but its way faster than green.
I must say, that the VaporX is stellar choice, cool, not so loud as other coolers and really really fast. In some games it almost reaches reference 290, so yeah, this is really good GPU. I would have go for 380 8 gig version, it will be slightly slower, but it have 8GB of Vram...

I have a WD green, I hope you only plan on using it for videos and pictures only, it won't cut it for some games as it's too slow, pay like 10 bucks more get a 7200 rpm drive.

also that 280x pricing is so outdated it's ridiculous, it should be 150-180

if this setup is for productivity aswell,
then i would recommend to go with the Xeon E3-1231-V3.
And trow this on a cheaper H97 mobo.

Both the i5-4460 and the E3-1231V3 are locked cpu´s, this means that they are not overclockable.
So basicly buying a Z97 mobo is a bit overkill, unless you want the option for a dual gpu setup.
But i would personaly not botter with that, and grab a nice H97 board.

About the Xeon E3, THe Xeon E3-1231V3 is slightly more expensive then an 4690k.
But this particular cpu, offers 4 cores 8 Threads, ( its basicly a locked i7 without igpu )
so it will be a bit better then the i5 for productivity, cause the i5 only offers 4 threads.

Also about the Msi Z97Sli krait, i have read allot of bad reviews about it.
Its also one of the cheapest Z97 board with Sli support, and thats because of reasons.
i would skip on that one.

Keep in mind, that reference 280X beats 380 in most cases, and this is ridiculously buffed up VaporX version we are talking about here. It's basically the fastest 280X if I am not mistaken, and I believe it was also the coolest. Not just visually.

I'm more than familiar with tahiti i've probably killed more than you've owned lol.

Off topic: You are making it personal? Classy.
On topic. Still, I don't believe there is another gpu at that price range that will offer better performance. So no, I don't think it is overpriced.

There's other versions of the 280x that are at least 50 dollars cheaper new. Yes this one is nice but it isn't worth the premium.

well you can also find some R9-290´s in the $250,- to $290,- price range.
If you do a good search, but yeah they are ofc not the best ones.

The 280X arround $200,- price range is basicly nice.

if you can slightly up the budget for a gpu.
Then look at this beast.

$280,- after mir.
But ofc it all depends on where you live and what not.

Wow, I did not know 290s was that cheap. And VaporX again? I so wished I lived in another country...
Just to say something, this 290 VaporX is basically performing as reference 290X...

Thanks alot guys but can i get some more info for a better motherboard and also as i said earlier i dont live in the us or canda so only amazon links please

Could you name a few H97 motherboards im not particularly good with them :)

Simple rule of thumb...always buy a motherboard similar in cost to your ram

I personally would look closely at the reviews of the particular 280x if you get one... I got the gigabyte windforce rev. 2 and it had some decent artifacting out of the box, stock clock speeds. So I ended up underclocking the core by 20mhz and memory by 500mhz to fix it. Other than that not a bad card. Underclocked, it still killed 1440p gaming for me at the time.

Dont you have a local seller with a website, where you live?

Asrock H97 pro4
Asrock H97 Fatal1ty performance.
Asrock Z97 pro 3
Asrock Z97 pro 4
Asus H97 pro gamer
Asus B85 pro gamer
Asus H97 plus.

Just a few boards from the "lower" price range.
I scanned abit over Amazon, but honnestly they have rediculous high prices somethimes.
Isnt there any other seller which you could grab your stuf from? @erenaslan

I dont realy agree with that statement tbh.

I don't agree with it either. Ram is extremely cheap where I live. There are just a couple of motherboards that cheap. O can get a good, not decent, good 2400mhz ram for around 50$, and there is even cheaper 8 gig kits for under 40$.

To each their own.
