My First Build, is it a good start?

Ok, I have just registered, so bear with me. I am building a high-end gaming PC. I am using mostly AMD, so please do not downgrade me for not using Intel. Here is what I am going to put in.

NZXT Phantom 820 case

AMD FX-8350 CPU
Asus Sabertooth R2.0 Motherboard
Asus BW-12B1ST Optical Drive
6 WD Black 1TB HDDs
Silent 200 and 140mm LED fans all around
Corsair AX1200i Power Supply
2 Radeon HD 7970s, and does each monitor need to be plugged into both with CrossFireX?
Razer BlackWidow
         Mamba
         Kraken Pro
         Sabertooth Controller
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Fata1ity Sound card
Kingston HyperX Predator (4 8GB kits)
3 Asus VS-239H Monitors
Ergotron LX Triple Monitor Mount

I think I smell a troll >->

I am not a troll, I promise.

what is your budget

Money is no object.

What's with all the fans!!! Do you live on the surface of the sun?!?

Also, will you be using it for just gaming? Why go AMD for that budget, if money is no object then x79 is the way to go.

I am an AMD fan, although I still like Intel. If I done this build with Intel and NVIDIA, it will be about $2250 more expensive.

I still want to keep it as cheap as it can be also as powerful as a ultimate gaming PC.

So, are you going to be using it for gaming exclusively?

I assumed you would be using it exclusivly for gaming, so I only selected 8 gb of RAM, you don't really need any more for gaming.

Get a 3930k and dual 7970s instead. The 8350 cripples multi-GPU performance. Also, those LED fans, in my opinion, are the ugliest fans in the history of the universe. Look into Noctuas, Corsair AF (for case) and SP (for radiator/heatsink), Scythe Gentle Typhoon (heatsink/rad), and Cougar fans. Gigabyte boards are great, for all sockets, especially for dual-booting with OS-X. Get 1 good 2560x1440 monitor instead of 3x smaller ones. Look into the Korean panels on eBay.

While that PSU is great, you don't need 1200W. Get a good 850W PSU from Seasonic (Seasonic X or Seasonic Platinum) for more than $100 cheaper.

Razer sucks :|

3970X, quad-Titans, RAVE, 64GB Dominator Platinum, 4TB Samsung 840 Pro, 1600W Lepa, MDPC-X sleeve, Case Labs Magnum M8, 4x 360mm radiators - this is the bare minimum for gaming, especially at high resolutions like 800x600.

holy shit how about you crossfire those 7970's buy me a 7870xt and be my hero no but on a serious not get the 7970's

If you really want the best performance this build will give you it.

Well, I just wanted someone's opinion about the build with no one trying to change things. So I will make an Intel one, and post it.

I Would personaly go for the amd at this moment.

with eye on the future,  i still believe intel is gonne take the sandy brdige E 2011 to end of life next year, thats how intel works.

i would personaly not invest in a dead socket.

the 2011 of intel isnt that popular, in my eyes, cause wenn you gonne look at most stores, they have only 3 cpus of that platform.

the amd is a 8 core and much more future proof at the moment.

and the amd is also cheap so if may amd make some crazy chances to go to a diffrent platform or new socket, then you can allways decide to upgrade the motherboard and cpu, cause its cheap, if you gonne buy a more expensive  x79 setup and intel takes it end of life next year then the damage in money is much higher. i know its a stupid example, but  in my eyes  a realistic one
