My First Build (£600) - What do you think?

I've recently got into pc gaming and it's obvious that I need a new one.

I have £600 to spend but it has to include a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

This is the what I planned have so far http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1RVLKI

After postage the price is £597.87 and I'm just wondering if it's the best it could be for the price.

Any help is welcome.

Do you have money to spend on a better monitor? Using an 8320 and a 7950 on a 1366x768 monitor is a tad of a waste. Especially because it's the devil's resolution.

If you would, a 7870 GHz edition or an R9 270X with a larger, grander monitor might be a better tradeoff, especially because you won't need to use anti-aliasing to eliminate jaggies at 1920x1080 and would thus tax your hardware less.

I should have an extra £100 in the middle of next month. I actually have a spare monitor which I could use until then.

Would that be best?

You cant put a 8 core on that tiny mobo and expect it to not melt......

octa-core + 7950 build for £600.

No heatsink included. You can use the stock fan until you get a little more cash.

I would recommend the Logitech MK120 keyboard and mouse combo. You can sometimes find it for as little as £10.

If you get £100 in the middle of next month, you can buy a nice 1080p LG IPS monitor.

Thanks for the help.

If I choose a build that uses a quad core and all of the parts were right for it, would it still be a good build for gaming?

save 30 and go with the 8350. oc to 4.5ghz and it will be amazing and with the m5a99fx it will be easy

At this price point, the 83xx AMD chips are really nice. No point trying to get an Intel build with a quad-core, in my opinion. I do use Intel. Put simply, Intel is more expensive than it is worth.

You could go with a much cheaper FM2 or FM2+ platform(s), in the interest of saving money. However, it wouldn't be as powerful.

For £600, the 8320 and 7950 is all pretty high-end stuff.

Ok, thanks for the help.

Last question for anyone. Is the 8350 worth the extra money when compared to the 8320?

Yes and no. You could get real lucky with the 8320, and have it overclock all the way up to an 8350, and then some.

I think the 8350 is better for productivity, where you want to squeeze every bit of performance out of the chip. If you're gaming, the 8320 is just as good.

You'll have the 8 cores that games like Battlefield 4 are starting to utilise. They are the same chip, but the 8320 is clocked lower.
