My First Big Boy PC (Suggestions?)

Hey guys so I am finally able to post! (Damn bugs)

So in the events to follow Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and my birthday I am putting together a computer. These are the parts that I have put together so far:

I am spending about 1400$ myself and someone is getting me the video card for my birthday.

So my question is, what can be better? I will upgrade the RAM to 16GB later on, or if price drops durring the big sales. I plan to do some Fraps work, video editing, and live streaming. I'm also planing on overclocking the CPU, RAM, GPU, and the MBU with the ability to upgrade to SLI in the future if need be. The case might seem silly I know, but I love the theme of it, so I can't resist.

very nice build. Do you already have an os?

It's included in the build list.

unless you do alot of video stuff, i'd stick with an i5, $100 less and just as good with gaming....

Good build, well balanced. Should do everything you need it too and more.

I'm getting the i7 because I herd it helps alot with live streaming. Maybe someone else has a different expeirence?

You doubt you need 850w, 650w, should be enought, even for SLI.

You should get either one of those instead of the 1TB drive, more GB/$$

Also, I know you like the chassi, but cut down on it, and get some cpu cooling instead.

WD green=

and your not that likely to need more than a tera, if you do, just add more hard drives...

oh, and the h100 is a bad idea, they have loud and cheapo pumps... get a thermalright silver arrow sb-e instead....

Or any of the XSPC rasa kits, they're great.

not as good as silver arrow, noctua nh-d14 or the phanteks dual tower.... I would have heard of it if it was.....

I'm trying to move away from the air cooling, and transfering to the water cooler. It's the H100i which has been rebuilt, and has some pretty good fans for about 2 dollars more from what I've seen in reviews on it.

I do like the seagate drive, I will deffinetly change that around.

I'm not sure on what you mean by, "Also, I know you like the chassi, but cut down on it, and get some cpu cooling instead."

I'm looking into the XSPC kits, if its not too expensive then I will totaly get that (Looks like a lot of fun)

I do thank you guys for commenting, it does help get the brain thinking.

And on that note the XSPC is in pounds (I think) and way over my price for cooling. Next build perhaps when I go full out on the liquid cooling.

Sure, but it works for storage, 1tb, is nothing, but I suppose it depends on your connection etc, I've got 100/10mbs, I'm getting 4tb, for my new computer I currently have 1,5tb maxed out.
